In addition to wrinkles or lines, uneven skin tone – dark spots, sun spots and pigmentation can also make the skin look a little old and less vibrant. This is why skin brightening or lightening products have become popular.
This cream starts as our all natural moisturiser. We then stir through three of the best natural brightening ingredients in their full concentration.
The ingredients we chose work gradually. Most of the studies on the ingredients are done over a 3-4 months period.
Will they be effective for you? Everyone is different. We encourage you to do your own research on the ingredients to see whether this cream is worth trying for you. MooGoo is one of the few companies that show every ingredient on our website, not just the herbal looking ones.
Please Note: While using brightening creams, try and avoid sun exposure. Wear a good hat and if going into direct sun, apply a sunscreen. We have not added sunscreen chemicals to this cream so that it remains natural and healthy for every day use.
Healthy and Effective Ingredients
Three Powerful Natural Brightening Ingredients Blended Through An All Natural Moisturiser:
Alpha Arbutin is usually derived from the Field Dock Plant. It is purified to increase its effectiveness and arrives to us as a white powder which we can mix through the water in the moisturiser.
What is it?
Originally from the Field Dock plant.
What is it?
This ingredient is derived from Indian Gooseberry which is a plant often used in Ayurvedic Medicine. However, rubbing Indian Gooseberry on the skin won’t do a thing. We use a concentrated standardised extract of Emblica which concentrates the compounds needed. It is also used in some anti-ageing creams (at a lower concentration) as it is an extremely effective anti-oxidant.
Ascobyl Tetraisopalmitate (VC-IP)
What is it?
One of our favourite ingredients. As most people know, Vitamin C is one of the best anti-oxidants. What most people don’t know however is that Vitamin C is normally water soluble and NOT soluble in oil. So when most forms of Vitamin C are applied to the skin, which is protected by our oil layer, it won’t get in. Ascobyl Tetraisopalmitate is a special form of Vitamin C that is soluble in Oil, so it can mix with the oil on our skin and penetrate through.
At lower concentrations, this ingredient works as an anti-ageing anti-oxidant.
Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Emblica Officinalis (Indian Gooseberry) Fruit Extract, Streaic Acid (Thickener), Alpha-Arbutin (Lightening Agent), Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Oil-Soluble Vitamin C), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt), Allantoin (Comfrey Root) Extract, Guar Guar Gum, Coco Caprylate (Coconut-Based Conditioner), Hydrolysed Milk Protein (For Skin Elasticity), Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract.
|Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name)
||When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding, but we can’t fight bureaucracy. We aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes. If we used only oils and actives, the cream would feel hot on the skin as the oils coat the skin and it becomes an occlusive. By making this cream with water, the cream penetrates the skin better which is more moisturising, soothing and cooling
|Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
||Sweet Almond Oil is extracted from almond kernels. It’s high in minerals and vitamins, and the types of fatty acids needed for troubled skin.
|Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract
|Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil
||Olive oil is derived from the ripe olive fruit. It’s packed with antioxidants and has a balanced fatty acid composition which restores moisture and nourishment to compromised skin. Olive oil is a great addition to natural and edible skincare.
|Emblica Officinalis (Indian Gooseberry) Fruit Extract
||This ingredient is derived from Indian Gooseberry .We use a concentrated standardised extract of Emblica which concentrates the compounds needed. It is also used in some anti-ageing creams (at a lower concentration) as it is rich in vitamins and an extremely effective anti-oxidant.
|Streaic Acid (Thickener)
||Streaic Acid is a fatty wax that holds all of the oils and water together. Without it, our cream would fall apart. It is also very softening on the skin.
|Alpha-Arbutin (Lightening Agent)
||Alpha-Arbutin is obrained from the Field Dock plant and is one of the most effective and safest natural brightening ingredients available.
|Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil
||Rice Bran Oil is extracted from the outer layer of rice. Rich in anti-oxidants, it is also a skin protectant.
|Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera)
||Aloe Vera is a flowering succulent plant that stores water in enlarged fleshy leaves, stems, or roots.
|Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Oil-Soluble Vitamin C)
||Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is an oil-soluble derivative of Vitamin C. It’s a powerful antioxidant that slows the rate of free-radical damage (free radicals are unstable molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.) .
|Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E)
||We use the more expensive, natural Vitamin E in our creams, not synthetic. Synthetic Vitamin E is clear and colourless. Natural Vitamin E is brown and has a scent and so discolours our creams a little. However it is much more bioavailable for the skin.
|Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt)
||Piroctone Olamine is an organic compound. It is a non-irritating anti-yeast ingredient which helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould.
||Allantoin is thought to help maintain healthy skin by encouraging the removal of dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of healthy skin tissue.
||We use a Guar extract that smooths the skin without the use of Silicones.
|Coco-Caprylate (Coconut Based Conditioner)
||Coco Caprylate is a coconut based emollient. The coconut oil derived ingredient gives the skin a smooth finish. It is a natural alternative to the silicones used in many creams and hair products.
|Hydrolysed Milk Protein (For Skin Elasticity)
||Hydrolysed Milk Protein is one of the most nutrient rich proteins due to its complete amino acid content. Studies have found that milk protein in a cream increased skin elasticity by around 20% compared to the same cream without. Skin elasticity ensures lines and wrinkles are minimised after any movement of the skin. For people with Lactose intolerance this is no problem, however for people that are allergic to Milk Protein itself, this ingredient would not be suitable.
|Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract
||Skin Care needs to stay pure from yeast and mould. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers”prefer products without parabens. We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hops Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams.
Apply to moist skin after washing the face at night. Can be applied twice a day. This cream also acts as an all natural moisturiser. All natural products should be patch tested for allergies before use.
